Around 11:15 this morning, a flock of 30 Whimbrel, accompanied by two Double-crested Cormorants, appeared at the end of the Leslie Street Spit flying west to east. They rounded Pipit Point and headed towards Ashbridges Bay, when I lost sight of them. They were calling all the time, quite a stirring sound.

In the Warbler department, a good mixed flock of warblers and vireos was feeding in the spruce trees across the main road from the entrance to Peninsula B. Blue-headed and Warbling vireos, and eight different kinds of warblers, including Canada, Bay-breasted, and Northern Parula, all of whom were vocal.

Saw, and heard, my first Swainson's Thrush of the year in the middle of the Wet Woods; and near the parking lot, a Black Swallowtail was muddling.
