A pleasant sunny morning at Cranberry Marsh right down to the shoreline provided good looks at several waterfowl. You’ll have better luck seeing them if you approach the viewing platforms slowly and quietly. Noteworthy birds included:
Gadwall
American Wigeon (many)
American Black Duck
Northern Shoveller
Green-winged Teal
Redhead
Ring-necked Duck (many)
Greater Scaup
Lesser Scaup
Long-tailed Duck
Bufflehead (many)
Ruddy Duck
Common Loon
Pied-billed Grebe
Horned Grebe
Ring-necked Grebe
American Coot
Marsh Wren
and in the adjacent fields 1 Wild Turkey - an anxious Tom in full display!

Thickson’s Woods was quieter than the weekend but other Spring migrants seen there were:
Golden-crowned Kinglet (many)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (many)
Veery
Hermit Thrush
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Field Sparrow
