I see you managed an unobstructed shot. I saw a flock of them as well
and they set-up a base camp in a bush, leaving for a spell only to return,
but they were all shy and stayed deep within the network of branches and
twigs thereby never offering me a clear shot. In the past I found waxwings
to be more tolerant of people, especially the juveniles. Saw a Magnolia
warbler in the backyard this morning so I'm wondering if a wave of migrants
arrived overnight.
