Hi Richard:
There's a parking lot at the east end of the park, just before you get to Dawes Rd and accessible from Dawes, if you're driving. At the east end of the parking lot, there's a set of washrooms, and then a few willow trees. Just east of the willow stand sits the pond, which has attracted a good variety of shorebirds and muskrats over the years. The heron was sitting right in the pond when I first arrived and then flew up into a dead tree. Good luck if you go.
