I had not seen a Carolina Wren in over 3 years, but this fellow decided to show himself briefly near the lighthouse at Presqu'ile Provincial park.

Nice close shot with a clean pose and you had perfect light to demonstrate detail.
I have only seen a Carolina wren a few times and only once was such
a wren on an isolated perch. I was laying on a fallen tree making clicking
noises to attract the wren and if I had anything longer than a 135mm lens
I might have had an interesting shot. At another time a wren was perched
in the midst of dense shrubbery (in the winter) so there was not a leafy
distraction but a myriad confusion of branches and twigs. As for a Marsh
wren, only saw one once at Rouge Beach park and then just fleetingly. I've
heard one close by at Cranberry and at Liverpool marsh but could not see
it for the reeds. It would be nice if I ever get to see and photograph one
but I'm not holding my breath .... not good for the few brain cells I have left.

I found him when I went to Rattray Conservation yesterday. He caught my attention with his songs. I was so surprised to hear bird songs at this season, so lucky to be able to find him, although the photo is not great.

There was a Carolina Wren at the Sedgewich Forest in Oakville today.  There was quite a lot of activity around the sewage treatment plant including a female hooded Warbler that was always just outside of my reach.  The poor lighting didn't help either.
