I had never seen a Hooded Warbler previously and this female could easily be mistaken for just another fall Warbler except for the white undertail.  It has been feeding for the past 10 days at Sedgewick Forest in Oakville, next to the water treatment plant.  Now I just need to find that elusive male Hooded Warbler.  :)

Fantastic shot Steve. I was thinking of going there today; unfortunately, the Calliope Hummingbird in Goderich, Ontario won over. It will probably hang out there for several days in Sedgewick Forest and I may drop by to check it out.

Thanks Dinu.  Hopefully we will have a break this week in the dull weather as it makes shooting birds a lot more difficult.

I've never been to the Sedgewick forest since it is located so far away from the eastern part of the GTA.
It definitely seems that there is more activity in the west. Must be a micro-climate thing. I'm wondering
how one can find a lone bird within an entire park, unless the forest is very small indeed. Clearly, you
have worked it all out and not only succeeded in finding the Hooded warbler but invited it to an intimate
tete-a-tete. Nicely done!

Sedgewick is not a big place and the warblers seem to hang out in a couple of small areas. It gets late and over wintering ones a lot.

Nice shot, that one was my first Hooded Warbler too. Have tried a lot in their usual spring/summer hangouts without seeing one. Didn't expect to get my first one in November.
