Tried out my new kayak today on the Credit River (Sat April 27). Kayaking is a great way to do some birding, and today was no exception. Saw a couple of Black-capped Night Herons (male and female), a couple of Red-tailed Hawks, a small flotilla (about 8 to 10) of Ruddy Ducks - they looked like males still in their winter plumage with some females. Gobs of Cormorants and a couple of Belted Kingfishers. Also a number of Mute Swans, one of which flew so close it almost hit my paddle. I think if one of those wings hit you it would hurt.
