Heading out for coffee early this morning I was intrigued by the sight of a gentleman bedecked in binoculars and standing beside a spotting scope on a tripod directed up....way up. Maybe not an unusual sight in the countryside but at a busy intersection on Yonge Street it was cause for me to stop and inquire. In fact, the scope was trained on a Peregrine Falcon perched high atop a condominium complex on Yonge just south of Finch. The fellow birder is a member of the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and thanks to him I had a spectacular view of this magnificent bird. I never would have thought I would see such a raptor in my own 'hood but you can bet I'll spend more time looking up.

Welcome to the board Lloyd, and I hope you have a lot of fun looking up!  The skies will soon be filled with youngin's who want to sail on the wing just like their parents.

For more information on the Canadian Peregrine Foundation, head over to their website:  http://www.peregrine-foundation.ca/ and be sure to check out their webcams as well, makes for great viewing!
