I accidentally destroyed a cottontail nest...thought it was a mouse nest...didn't realize that they just dug little bowls in the ground and lined / cover with grass and fur...and then leave the babies except for feeding times...I meant to destroy the nest thinking it was mice...just so others are careful and don't make the same mistake I did...at the end of the day, 6 of the 7 were released back into the food chain...what happened to the 7th you ask? Sigh...there was a jail break...I had them in my house for a few days....and only 6 of the 7 were rounded up...don't ask...I shudder to think.
