Would the SIGMA AF170-500MM APO DG be a good one for birding on a Nikon D50. They are on sale at Henry's for $749.00

That was our first long lens. It's okay when stopped down, and AF speed is not very fast. We replaced it with the Bigma 50-500, which is very sharp and focuses much faster.
My dad actually found his on Ebay for under $300-.
This one should be good tho
