A male and female Baltimore Oriole just arrived in my backyard. Looking at my records that's the earliest ever in my backyard. I have not even put the oranges out for them yet. Better get on that. The male helped himself to the hummingbird feeder. First time an oriole has shown up before a hummingbird.

I saw a male Baltimore Oriole yesterday and he has been back twice today. Eating a bird seed cylinder and enjoying some grape jelly. Last year the first time I had a Baltimore Oriole at my feeder was May. 8th. Oranges remain untouched so far.  I have a feeder with syrup for them as well. They haven't touched that either.
Last year I watched the male teach the baby how to eat jelly. It was incredible to watch.

I went through one jar of jelly every week last year.

I have Blue Jay's, Robin's now,  yellow Finch, purple Finch, chickadees, morning doves, Cardinals, few kinds of sparrows, nuthatches ( white breasted and red breasted) , eastern bluebird nested here last year, haven't seen them yet.   The other birds listed are the  birds that I see usually every day. The yellow finches are in big groups right now, they look like light bulbs in my cedars, very pretty.

I have had  a hawk stop by now and then looking for lunch.

This year I have a pair of nesting Canadian geese that stroll by my window every morning, eating some corn out of the bird seed that falls, then carrying on to the field.

Anyways, happy bird watching. It awlays puts a smile on my face, when I watch them.

Stay safe.
