Today I learnt, apart from predators, competitors, the wife can also make the Eastern kingbird to reveal its crown. The pic was take after the female went to attack/ play with him with no warning, so my pics were blurred
I think the fledgling is a house finch

The heat doesn’t seem to get you down. Must be nice to be young and full of beans. I like your flight shots of the Eastern Kingbird and the Killdeer, especially the latter, which is classic. The female House Finch resting upon an isolated perch with an even green backdrop is also classic. Heaven help us if you injure your lens-carrying arm and this forum dries up completely.

I've processed those three shots to reduce the brutal contrast.

Thank you. that's a female finch? Why can't I find the cute fledglings? and also, can you post the two cute babies perching together again? I can't view some of your pics any more.

I don't recall a photo that I took of two cute babies. I almost never get to see very young
birds so you must be thinking of someone else's photo. I was never any good at baby photography.

You had sets of series of Juvenile,Fledgling and chicks! And I think might be two Bluegray Gnatcatcher or something. Two sit side by side looking at your camera.
