A couple of days ago they were dancing in the sky then yesterday possibly mating,  they were on a ledge and difficult to see. Would they breed this late in the year ?

Your first photo appears to have two Peregrine juveniles - they do play fight (or dancing as you said) with each other as part of their skills development. The second photo appears to have an adult with a pigeon kill.

So that is what the weird mixture of body parts on the ledge was. What identifies the flying ones as juveniles ?

They would likely have raised their chicks by now.
