A pair of cardinals began nesting in a spruce tree in my yard. Last evening, they became very agitated, calling back and forth with the alarm "chip" call for at least two hours until dark. They are around the tree today but it is unclear what they are up to. If a nest was raided, would they continue with this behaviour for as long as they did?
