I wondered whether it was a bad time to visit, because I hardly saw any birders there.

I did not find any owls, not surprising, I'm not that good at it to begin with.  I struggled to remember the name of the black backed gull, then laughed.

When I saw the red heads, I remembered the pic by Shortsighted, and I knew I could never take one as good as that

Didn't see them until they all took off, didn't find out who they were until I got home with field guide. So these are the legendary snow buntings

I also saw a Peregrine falcon chased a longtailed duck into the water with a huge bang. and a muskrat briefly surfaced. Didn't get shot. But so astonished to be there.

If you were there in the afternoon the birders probably went to Woodbine Park for the Black-throated Gray Warbler that was discovered there.
