I saw my first TV of the season yesterday -- March 3.....to me, the TV's herald the advance of the spring equinox not Turdus migratorious.
I'm in Ayton....that's about an hour and 15 minutes due north of Guelph....45 minutes due south of Owen Sound.

Wow, that's cool - it is already that for north.
Yesterday (Mar 3) I saw my first of the season Red-winged Blackbird in Downsview Park.

Interesting re: RWB....I thought I saw a flock of them kinda close but south of Arthur on Feb 28th.....it happened so fast that I'm going by impression of the flock...that they came out of a bed of reeds....wasn't sure if RWB or starlings.....it was I think a coldish day....there was still a fair bit of snow on the ground....
