I have not yet seen any kind of kinglet this year. I had hoped a few GCK might appear in the woodlot across the street (Pickering) but nothing moves except perhaps a robin. Just today I did see my first Chipping sparrow of the year. It was down the street not in the backyard where cowbirds and House sparrows rule. I’m not going to refill the feeder for a while until the cowbirds find themselves a cow and relocate. No goldfinch have appeared in quite a while. Hairy and Downy are regulars, as are cardinals and rarely a WB nuthatch.

I have not seen a Chip this year. Can you help identify the butterfly in Nature section for me? I still don't know the one other than Mourning Cloak and Tortoiseshell. Thanks

Eastern Comma butterfly. Resembles the Eastern Question mark but the give-away is your shot of the under-wing which clearly shows the "comma" mark as a light=coloured crescent.

Thank you. I uploaded that one on purpose, remembering you asked about it previously.
