Sat, I went up to one of my favorite spring/summer warbler breeding grounds.   I always find good numbers of both species + plus hybrids, but this year I actually found my first Golden-wing nest.  Didn't actually see the babies but both parents were actively taking food down to the nest area, which was down on ground in a thick section of thicket, didn't need to further stress birds by try to look.  Just seeing both parents up close was rewarding enough, few shots then left them to their work

Was a good trip, almost came home with a full set,  maybe next year I will see the Lawrence there!

Finding a male and q female Golden-winged is like winning a lottery, well done.

It doesn't take skill and forethought in order to win the lottery. These results are mostly due to an enlightened appreciation of the best habitat, previous experience in that locale. and an intuitive comprehension of what it means to be in da zone, free of conceit and in tune with (inevitable) possibilities. More succinctly, you know what you are doing and are familiar with your quarry. These sublime photographs are not an accident. Heck, you probably looked cool while performing your magic even without wearing shades.
