I ventured out in the afternoon. And spent an hour or so chasing the belted kingfishers. There were three, one kept chasing the other. So I suspect one of them might be the kid. They beat me, yet again. I have no decent photo to show. I discovered a pair of Rosebreasted Grosbeak though, the mother gave me such scorning. The Indigo Bunting too, hurt feeling, they were much friendlier when they came to my feeder before.

The frequency with which you encounter Indigo bunting is just amazing. The only time I managed to locate one out east is in Colonel Danforth Park. Even then, it was only spotted deep in the woods and well away from the main drag. One was in the backyard nine years ago when I was just getting interested in bird photography and only had a point-and-shoot camera. You got a really nice shot of it. I'm thinking all you really need to do is whistle and the bunting come calling.

Well, it IS my favourite bird. My experience is you have to wish it really hard. First I didn't have any. Then there was one in the trail; then the year after one moved to my ravine; then there were two; then one came to my feeder briefly; Now I can hear one quite often.

That's why I don't see any blues ... they are all employed by you as models. You stole my blues from under me.
