I got mocked! There were four of them, three on the same tree, but I was too close. And I was also too close to that GBH, who got fed up and finally took off after I took a selfie with him

Great set of photos Ally. I am sure you noticed that the second bird in your second set of shots is different - a very nice find and photo.

I know it's a warbler   orange crowned?

Not an Orange-crowned warbler although they do make an appearance in October. They have somewhat muted streaking on their underparts and some grey-colour on their face/head. This fine specimen is likely a fall Tennessee warbler. Note the very faint wing bars, the greenish back without streaking and the off-white supercilliary arch. The eye has a little white above and below although not a continuous ring. The bill tends to be thin and very pointed. I love this shot, It is so casual and relaxed-looking. A fine, even definitive capture that says it all.

I've noticed that you visit Downsview Park frequently. What is your impression of the site. For example: pros and cons. I imagine that there are a few pros exploring the park but I would think that any escaped cons are likely to find no place to hide. Anyway, what do like about the site and what is less attractive in your opinion. This is NOT a test! Your participation in these site surveys is completely optional. Anyone else can also chime in ... but I doubt they will.

Thank you. Yesterday I was trying to have a bird against golden backdrop, and maybe having the junco be in the same frame with a warbler. Kind of failed both.

I love the park. It's about 15mins drive,  Parking is easy. Not too complicated landscape, (so I don't get lost) and enough variety. There are woods, small hills, ponds, so attracts plenty wildlife. RTHs would hunt right in front of you, and eat his kill right in front of you. It is well maintained, so you don't get so many prickly seeds stuck to you, and you almost never come home empty handed. As long as you don't aim for only getting rare ones. Well, I did get the Eastern Meadowlark there.

Thanks. Sounds like a good place for your location. For me it was too far away and required 401 travel, which is not something I wish to endure, and the park has no shelter from the wind, the intense sun, or the cold in winter. It is truly amazing how many species visit the place. I may ask you about your impression of other sites as well ... eventually.
