Finally goldfinch in the backyard

I haven't seen any goldfinch since early October and even then not many. Today is the first day of 2022 and I suddenly have at least a dozen of them. Spotted on the coneflower they soon discovered the ground-above-my-feet, thanks to the busy chickadees and juncos. Also heard and then saw a Pileated woodpecker fly over the neighbours house. Heard a Screech owl in the woodlot across the street last night.

The woodlot is quiet tonight ... no Screech owl.
