Kinglets and Mourning cloak

I think I saw a couple of golden crowned kinglets, and just now a dark butterfly flew by my window. I think it's a mourning cloak.

I photographed a golden crowned kinglet a few days ago, but haven't got to deal with the photo yet.

No problem dealing with the capture of a kinglet, but dealing with the photo itself; well, that's another matter. I love it. It's the fall that'll kill you!

The golden crowned kinglet hasn't returned for me to photograph. Still in class. Would you settle for a couple of house finches? I really adore them, the couples will always stay together. She is not happy with him today for some reason.

I've seen some House finches hanging around someone's house down the street but not for ages up at my end.  Even that sighting was over a month ago. I've heard White-throated sparrow calls lately but I have not yet seen one. I'm hoping that something new will show-up in the backyard soon. I may need to wait until the last week of April before that happens. I came across a photo taken with my Canon G9 a decade ago and it reminded me of the bonanza of birds that were visiting in those by-gone days. A White-throated sparrow, an Eastern Towhee and a Fox sparrow all at about the same time. Then a thrush and a Thrasher. Stuff like that just doesn't occur anymore.
