We arrived yestarday at our place in Tiny only to be greeted by cool temps and strong winds, it really put a damper on what we were planning to do in the yard. The pooch had no trouble with the cold and was not happy with us hiding in the house while the heating system's brought the temperature up to a comfortable level..
Today was slightly better although it was -4 overnight. This morning  while doing yard work we had a group of White Throated Sparrows in the yard and a few singing in the distance. During the early afternoon a Chipping sparrow arrived and was calling on our mostly dead Catalpa tree.

Northern Flicker across the lane(thought it was a Pileated as they sound similar), lots of Chickadee's, Cardinals all over the place, Grackles? and Song Sparrows...Junco's have departed

I love arriving at cottage in the winter....wife and kid stay in the car while I go in and light a fire.....and unload the vehicle...and then they come in....they're too good to me.
