I noted in a different forum of the presence of rare Kirtland's Warbler near Barrie. I did make a quick visit and managed to get a few semi-decent photos of 30 seconds of viewing of one of the 6 males, in a cloudy morning, right after a heavy downpour.

Nice spotting / ID....I'd have just dismissed it as an LBJ.

I dropped by there today to get some better photos, at least to convince Ally that it wasn't a Yellow-rumped Warbler. One was seen chasing a Cedar Waxwing when it landed on a red pine close to the trail and in front of a few of us lucky ones. Here's a composite of two views of the warbler. I could clearly hear two different birds, and there may be more.

Dinu, those are some nice images of a hard to find Warbler.  One day I will have to go searching for the Kirkland Warbler as the only time I saw one was 100’ up in a tree.

Those were some wonderful pics and it was not lucky, it is pure persistance!!

My husband and I took a trip up there yesterday,  but no luck.  We did walk around the closed area.  Heard and saw some others but no Kirklands.  At least i know where to go now.
