Some construction on the street, but eventually I got in. I heard someone took a pic of 10 herons, six night herons on the same log not long ago. I would scream if I see such crowd. Luckily I never have luck like that.

The blue heron was just napping in front of the new lily patch by himself, he didn't know he had to do some babysitting for some distant relative.

I like female kingfishers, get better pictures. I said better, not necessarily prettier though.

The warbling vireo couple had big success this year. There were five or six of them, but none thought a group photo was a good idea.

You certainly were active today. Good exposure on the flight shot despite the bright sky and good panning for the kingfisher considering they fly so fast and low thereby offering little reaction time. All this with a heavy lens. I sure could have used your 600mm's reach for the GCFC today, although at f6.3 I may not have captured enough light with only first-generation stabilization. I wonder how profound the IBIS is for the new Canon R cameras? I mean, I know what they purportedly achieve but I don't really know how it feels when using it in the field. It must be amazing. I heard that there was a Sora at Sam Smith. I don't suppose that you saw it. That may have been a few weeks ago ... I lose all track of time. There was one at Reesor pond (south) ... the little pond in Scarborough, not the one in Markham.
