A Northern Mocking bird stopped by, and it was the first time I saw one in the yard. I can hear hawk calling in the distance, so he might be on the look out for that. Little did he know, that the local nuts and finches are not having it.

One couple of each kind came to protest vigorously against his stay. They were up in arms, literally.

When the mocking bird moved to the spruce tree, the RBNs went with him, and the WBN remained on the dead tree, then I realized that I forgot to try to take photos of both nuts on the same tree. Although that was brief even if it happened at all, they would be quite far apart on different limbs of the tree. I guess I have to submit Shortsighted assignment at another time.

Look, if you manage to capture both nuthatches feeding at the same time at the same spot then send them both down to my office and I will talk some sense into them. We simply don't condone that kind of fraternizing. This is a tribal institution and we pride ourselves by our dedication to prejudice and exclusion. We can't have any free-thinking nuthatches spreading ideas around. Why, before you know it there will be collusion and the authorities might be challenged. Heaven forbid that kind of chaos takes hold.  I won't have it!
