Funny you should ask that question, just yesterday I was researching bird and wild life photography and found multiple Youtubers making statements about getting to the same eye level as the bird they were imaging. Laying down on the sand etc.

This is not the video I watched but he makes the same statements. see link around minute 2:40 ish.. He was shooting Plovers somewhere on the East coast.

I came across these videos while researching newer cameras. I have a bit of time on my hands when I am not renovating things or dealing with the honey do list.

Being an opportunistic and casual wildlife shooter, I rarely deliberately lower myself to the eye level of an animal.

Guess sometimes it happened, especially when I met piping plovers.

Looks interesting, any details on the mini tripod? Manufacturer? cost?

Plate system?
Napper :)  I wouldn't mind a new tripod, mine is an ancient Manfrotto made from AL with a long center column..

SMALLRIG mini tripod. It was a gift, but about $53.00 at Amazon.

At first I thought it was a FOTOPRO when I laid hands on it, based on the way it looked, because I was previously gifted a full-size tripod of this make a couple of years ago and they look so similar.

When shooting on the backyard I still used my old Linhof from 1969. That thing is still a pleasure to use.
