What is the term for a roaming band of Grackles? Not unlike a Murder of Crows there is a band of 30 to 40 Grackles that appear every other day in different areas around here. Today they were in the yard next door then ours  then two door down.

That Red "Naped" bellied Woodpecker has been around all this week making that odd chucking like call. I tried to record it but every time I did a vehicle would drive by. The other day I was standing at the end of our driveway with my camera trying to figure out what the tiny little musical birds were in the trees when a RB Woodpecker landed in the tree directly in front of me! Completely Back lit in the morning sun I got nuthin. It was only 10 feet up and maybe 20 from me >:( .
Saw a Phoebe on the fence yesterday, Cardinals still calling in the distance. Chickadees and WB Nuthatches still at feeder.
p.s.  The yard was covered in Silk like strands hanging with little white worms attached. Odd for this time of year!

p.s.s wife went to have a swim, didn't make it too far in. Water was cold despite warm temps today.
