I was looking out the window at the backyard and contemplating two things. #1: I have a lot of work to do in order to get ready for winter. #2: I was remembering how bad (good) it looked when everything was over-run by weeds, some of them a meter tall, and how great it was that those weeds attracted migrating fall warblers, like the Nashville warbler and the Mourning warbler of a couple of years ago. Not now, I guess. Then I look down and what do I see? A Winter wren! I must muse like this more often.
