What sounds did I hear? No sounds! It was absolutely quiet because there was no wind.

At night I only recall the sounds of the campfire. It was the quietest place I've ever visited.

Caught a trout, cleaned the trout, cooked the trout, ate the trout ...

The next day there was a breeze and therefore the lake was no longer like glass.

The first visit was perfect.
It sounds perfect and would be a great and much needed break from this "condo city" that I'm currently living in.

Lake St. Peter might not be so idyllic right now and your condo is probably comfy and warm. You may have to swallow your condo situation because condo accommodation can also be for the bird brains too. At least that's what I thought when I took the photograph. So cheer up, you're in good company with this whole condo lifestyle thing. Let's hope you don't get a sudden out-of-the-blue condo assessment due to the discovery of a much-needed structural attitude adjustment. I call this condo project New Capistrano. Don't tell anyone but I'm thinking of investing.

Might be nice in the Summer.   :)

Also, I'm in a house.  Not happy with all the condos going up here in the downtown including new ones that are 70 floors! Too many people and too much traffic in the area   :o  Forget going to Square One Shopping Mall on the weekend, jam packed and I'm not a fan of crowds!

Hmm, this list is probably going to be incomplete.

Algonquin - the only time I have seen a marten
Arrowhead - I have a similar photo of that big bend
Bronte Creek
Craigleith
Forks of the Credit
French River - the most mosquitoes I have encountered in Ontario; did watch otters playing on a slide all night
Hardy Lake
Kap-Kig-Iwan - saw thousands of trout lilies on a spring hike
Killarney
Killbear
Long Point
Pinery - one of my best experiences of fireflies
Presqu'ile

That's an impressive list Charline.  Which ones would you most recommend?

Thanks, Dr John. My personal favorites are Killarney, Bon Echo and Arrowhead.

I also love the parks in the Lake Superior region. It's a pity that they are too far away and hard to get to without driving.

I should try to make it to Bon Echo at some point.

If you go, please check the last day of the ferry or boat rental in the fall You need to take the boat to go to the other side.

This photo was taken in 2013. Will try to make it black and white if I can locate the original image.
