Quietest morning so far. It is getting close to the traditional 'peak' of the spring migration, usually around May 14th, and yet sightings are dropping and the song of warblers disappearing. Nothing I discovered this morning was without trouble to photograph. There were only a few migratory warblers and they were between mid-story and the crest of the canopy. I finally spotted a single Cape May and it was too far up to shoot. That species eludes me every spring. I mean, there's still a chance for the coming week but I'm not holding my breath with anticipation. Also spotted a BT Green, a BT Blue, a Nashville, a single Yellow and an Am. Redstart (M). Compared to yesterday there were very few Warbling vireo. Someone else reported seeing RE vireo but I didn't see any. Didn't see any Indigo bunting today either. I could hear B. orioles but I didn't see one. No sign of an Orchard oriole either.
