So, I stayed very close to home this morning because I had a feeling that a more distant site would not be worth the drive to Acton. I visited the Rouge and it was indeed very dull. I didn't see, or hear a single warbler. It's as if the migration was completely over. Not even a Yellow warbler made an appearance. I could hear a Great crested flycatcher calling and eventually found it. I lifted my camera to take a shot and discovered that there was no AF. I had previously performed a deep dive into the 7D's extensive menu and made some changes and somehow I altered the AF. By the time I found out the problem the bird had relocated. A second attempt to get a shot turned out poorly since the image was blurred, although it should not have been. I had no focus acquisition issues yesterday, not even in dark areas. This is troubling.
I spotted a couple of Indigo bunting and managed a shot of one of them. I also came across a Tree swallow nest hole in a small birch trunk and got a shot of that as well, but there was nothing else of interest. If the migration is over, then it will have started early and ended quickly. Normally the peak day is usually anywhere from May 12th to May 15th.
