A couple of years ago in May I saw a Bee Fly on a dandilion under the Bloor viaduct . Yesterday I saw one again walking up a steep dirt trail into the Brickworks near Bayview and Pottery Road. I got a photo of it with my cellphone.

Thanks, now I know it's proper name.

I saw this thing often in the Brickworks.

Cool, I spotted one of these here in Milton in 2021 when I looked it up the only thing I could find was a "Tiger Bee Fly".
I  posted about it on this forum.

According to Wikipedia the Bombylius major (commonly named the large bee fly, the dark-edged bee fly or the greater bee fly) can be found from April to June throughout temperate Europe, North America and parts of Asia, concentrated in the northern hemisphere.
