Not many birds around this winter. I can take a walk around the neighbourhood and not see, or hear a single bird. In previous years there were cardinals and chickadees everywhere. When something shows up in the backyard it is most often a single junco. If anything else visits, like a tree sparrow or finch it hangs around for a few minutes while visiting my feeder and then they disappear and don't return.
