As I slowly drove along the road next to a pond in the Rouge, constantly checking my rear view mirror for approaching traffic, because there is always traffic, I noticed a pair of Great egrets perched next to the water. I pulled over and considered getting out of my car but just then both egret took flight and headed westward and out-of-sight. Still, they remain my FOY egrets. A photo would have been nice. Oh well.
