Greetings!
We saw this bird near the parking lot at Hilton Falls. I thought maybe a Verio except the bill seems like a Flycatcher or Kingbird. It has a rather harsh call: short. loud, and squawky. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Bernie

I am thinking an immature eastern kingbird.

The bill shape, hint of a face pattern, and the olive tinges make me suspect Red-eyed Vireo.

Unfortunately, the best way to ID a juvenile is to find the parents!

Yes-too true. The wings on this fellow are a dark olive-if that helps.

Many thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Bernie
