Good evening
Today Ian Cannell and I returned from Cobourg Harbour along Lake Shore Road and in the Lakeshore Road / Willow Beach Road area just west of Port Britain we found 89 Eastern Bluebirds, 175+ Cedar Waxwings, 225+ American Robins, 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 A. Tree Sparrows and a Red-bellied Woodpecker.
At Cobourg Harblour we viewed Red Phalarope, Purple Sandpiper, Dunlin, Pectoral Sandpiper and 5 Black-bellied Plovers with many Red-breasted Mergansers and Lesser Scaup on and over the lake and 28 Bonaparte's Gulls in and outside the harbour.
I forgot - As we were driving along Hwy 401 between Exits 432 and 440 we spotted 4 adult Golden Eagles. These 4 birds were not migrating on the unfavourable SW winds but were hovering / flying around just above the trees and ground.
NOTE:- At Cobourg harbour Please DO NOT leave the break wall to try and get closer to the above Shorebirds as this will in all probability flush the many Geese that will in turn flush the Shorebirds ( that may not return ) and I think that many other birders, etc. would love to see these birds. You can get good views / photos from the break wall with your scopes and long lenses ( that is what that equipment is made for ).
