Birding takes my mind off stuff and it adds good life to a tuff life. It also helps me forget about my spine pain and stress.  Laugh, eat, be merry.  Anybody with extra $ may send me some as It will permit me to travel.

Thanks for the reply, I have often seen large numbers of (what are those small brown birds called again?), like the finchs' in trees & bushes around my house late in the evenings & always suspected they slept there.

Our previous house had a west facing, 2nd floor window that had a metal awning.  One week, one very cold winter, I noticed 2 house sparrows would be sleeping on a narrow ledge on the underside of the awning.  Funnily, they would not huddle together, but would be at opposite ends.  Soon there was only one, then it was gone too.
