Perhaps I should have posted this as a spin off to my recent post on Robins en masse in my back yard.
Lately, with not only the robin activity, plus the Mourning Dove carryings on, and all the other stuff, my friendly neighbourhood hawk has apparently made my backyard a stopping-off point. He/she regularly swings through late in the p.m. scattering the assembled throng.
He has come close with the doves, but I have never seen the hawk successful. Sad really. They have to live too. I have to check the identity, but he/she has been through here last year...
They do learn, I think.
