There have been small erratic groups of White-winged Crossbills feeding in the Cedarvale area for the past several days, both in the Ravine, just east of the Glencedar Bridge, and north of the Ravine along Chiltern Hill. Also seen, on January 20, was a Winter Wren at the (treacherous) steps down into Cedarvale Ravine, north end of the Glencedar Bridge. The area also has a very cooperative pair of Red-Tailed Hawks, and there was a fine male Kestrel on Chiltern Hill on the 20th. Also the occasional Pine Siskins, a good number of Robins, and the usual resident species. But I miss last winter's Redpolls!
