Here's a few pictures I took from Binbrook Conservation area today.
The owl's are a mating pair, one was in the tree and the other one circled me and the tree as I walked up to where they were. I left quickly so I wouldn't disturb them  :D

They look a bit blurry to me, not sure what to suggest. I was there today and tried to find the short-eareds but wasn't able to find them.

Thanks for your comments. I don't have a proffesional camera just a reg. digital (canon power shot a560). Once you zoom to a certain point it get's blurry, hopefully the next camera I'll be able to get a proper distance lense for but for now I just love taking pictures of the birds I do see  :) . That's really too bad that you didn't get to see them, they were right by the old boat launch when I went. I stayed at the top of the hill so I wouldn't chase them away, they shouldn't have had too much traffic as the ice fishers should be done now untill spring. Hopefully you'll get a chance to see them next visit, and possibly run into one another. My husband is an avid ice fisher and he's the one who spotted them when they were fishing near the launch, I'll most likely be taking a look there tomorrow so I'll post if I see them. Happy Birding !

Hey Greg, I stopped into Binny for a quick walk. The gates are closed so I gave a quick wave to Jim with our pass and made a short trip to the hill over looking the old boat ramp. Both short ears were still there, good luck.

I usually take Rymal/hwy 53 to Trinity church road to Kirkrd to Harrison road. If you are going up Hwy 20 it turns into Hwy 56 you can turn right onto Kirk road and left onto Harrison.
Here's the address of Binbrook conservation area: 4110 Harrison Road RR 2, Binbrook, ON L0R 1C0‎ - (905) 692-3228‎
