Nice shots. I really like the mergansers in flight.  Also, I've never seen an owl with a skinny tail and second pair of legs before  :lol:. Did you watch the owl catch the muskrat, or did it already have it?

Guess it wasn't Colin.

Mark, thanks for the comments.  I was thinking of renaming the bird a Great Horned Musky Owl, but the Smithsonian denied the application.   :lol:   The owl had the muskrat when I arrived on the scene, but I do know that there were other members of this forum who were present just a bit before I was.  I'd love to hear if the bird had the owl as well or if it picked it off in the middle of the day.
