When I've seen banded Trumpter Swans I've reported them to the banding site at www.pwrc.usgs.gov/bbl/

I submitted a report to the "Wye Marsh " organization. i have not received a response and probably will not receive one...

after looking at the tag it actually might be bird 626 and not 959.

I am sure that this guy moved on today(it is really busy and noisy area) . I didn't have a chance to get over there today

After looking at some of the other shots I took  "Wow"  what a massive and beautiful bird..

I will be travelling to Nw Ontario next Week Hopfully we will finally  get a good look at the Eagle, kingfisher and pileated I spotted last Year.


Will be Back  Middle of August  See ya...............

I reported one to them once too, and I did receive a reply, but it took a couple of weeks so hang in there.  It's absolutely amazing how successful that program has been.  I remember going up there as a kid and watching the swans in the observation area.  To see the numbers of Trumpeters in and around Humber Bay this past winter and spring absolutely warmed the cockles of my heart.

I did receive a reply regarding The Trumpeter

bird 959 is a female released in September 2005, Near Grand Valley

She was here for at least 3 Days, not around yesterday when I looked

Great pic, Napper. They are magnificent birds aren't they? We had a pair over-winter with their 2 cygnets at our pond here in Whitchurch-Stouffville several years ago. BTW, thanks for the kind remarks in a previous post. Incidentally, If you're close enough to a Trumpeter to see a leg band, it's a male if the band is on the right leg and a female if it's on the left.  Al
