hope ticks count as wildlife lol.
Just went to Amherst Island this weekend and  discovered there are  ticks! I know they are prevelant in the lake Erie area. Have never come across them in Halton where I live despite trudging through the woods and fields all the time.

These ticks were quite small and different from the ones I have seen near lake Erie, maybe not as well fed?

Just curious how people deal with them.
And curious as to what other parts of Ontario people have found them and in what quantities.
They could turn me into more of a winter person.

Hi there RKD,

Could have been a different type of tick (there are a few here in Ontario).  A possible reason for its small stature is due to the fact that it hasn't fed yet and as such was just in th process of finding a host when you happened by.

Best way I've ever used or seen of removal can be found at the 4:17 mark of this video - Tick Removal

Cheers, Attila
