Green Heron? Can't seem to figure this one out

There were two of them in a nest over a pond.  The first one is a shot of just one and the second is a shot of them in the nest.  I will go back and get better pics another day.

Nice photos, especially the second one!  

Have never seen a pair of Green Herons before - have only ever seen them alone.

I used to live by this pond.  It's the same place that i just posted the pics of the great blue heron starting to build a nest.  Last year i saw a cormorant, and over the years i've seen lots of different hawks including an osprey that would dive for fish that live in the pond.
