saw a fox yesterday evening in the western half of the cemetery, near the main mausoleum, around 7:30 pm (gates are open until at least 8pm at this time of year)

There is a fox den nearby.  I have been watching the four kits playing,  The parents bring them food.  I last saw them on Friday, June 5.  Since then, there have been no sightings.  Afraid the cemetery folks have done something to them.  One of the personnel was upset because he saw a lady feeding them a peanut butter sandwich.  They posted a do not feed sign.  And now they are gone.

I cant speak directly to this situation, however I have watched birds at MPC for the past 8 years and know the property manager to be very wildlife friendly. He loves the wildlife and enjoys photographing them himself. He specifically orders staff not to bother either animal or birds. Naturally in a cemetary they would have to keep the Foxes from certain areas with high people traffic or from causing "damage" around gravesites. Feeding wild animals like a Fox is always a mistake. If I see the property manager soon I will be sure to inquire.

I agree with Big Frank. They love the foxes at the Mount Pleasant. Last year once the kits were mobile she moved them to a secondary den.  This is what has probably happened.

Saw a fox a week ago trotting across Bayview, just south of Sunnybrook Hospital. It's the third time I've seen one around here.
