I don't know why, but I've received several requests for information regarding where it could be possible to encounter black bears during a camping trip.
While I don't mind giving locations such as Algonquin Park, I also ensure that people are aware and know what measures to take should they encounter a bear during their stay.
The black bear population here in Ontario, much like cougars in BC, are spending more and more time around residential areas looking for food because of the lack of berry production here in Ontario, and as such more encounters are being reported to the MNR.
