Are you sure they were Fowler's Toads, and not American Toads?

That photo looks like an American.

the American Toad's i have seen in the area appear all greyish green, none have the spots i have seen with this toad.

i referenced this before i came to a conclusion:

i have notified the frog watch team of this, and hopefully they can verify if it is in fact a Fowler's Toad!

That is an American Toad.  Fowler's Toad have 2 or 3 warts within each black spot.  American Toads have only one.  As far as I can see, the toad in your pic only has one wart per black spot.  American Toads are highly variable in their colouration and patterning so sometimes they can look like a different species.

Hi angelicque I hope you know that this is a area for educating as for informing others of your findings WOW could you just imagine if it was a Fowler's Toad how cool wood that have bin !!!

But any way I hope you never fell embarrassed to post !! just look at my spelling hahahaha  aaa  :wink:

Thanks for your post on frogs . Lots of interest and expertise shown in the responses . Never paid much attention to frogs or turtles during my birding field trips - I will in the future .
