I'm right by the Eglinton and Warden water tower (southeast corner of street).  I noticed a bird perched near the top of the tower's underside (near the "mushroom cap").
Its very high up and its a really sunny day. I'd feel foolish if i was posting about a pigeon...
but i'm relatively certain its a peregrine falcon.
its moving its head in what i would say is a raptor-like way and its colours make it look like a falcon (looks like its weariong a black hood. it has a dark body and a whiteish  breast).

its perched up facing the northwest corner. no clue if it would have a nest there (very likely not, i would guess).  if you are in the 'hood, either take a look today or look out for it.

HI there,I am with The Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the watertower is a spot they are known to roost. It is very likely it was a Peregrine. There was at least one, sometimes 2 hanging out there last fall/winter. There is a pair at the Yellow Pages building at Markham and Milner. Its possible it was one of them. Its also possible its one of 2 others we know who frequented this spot. Alternatively its possible it is a roaming juvenile. I'll let a few other folks know and likely it will be checked out very soon. I'll be sure and let you know if we discover an identity.

thanks, bigfrank.
i saw it fly away at 4:40 PM. before it flew, i saw it turn and it spread its wings and it definitely was a falcon.
when it flew, there was a lot of rapid wing flaps. i saw it circle around and head northwest and disappear.
it wasn't a huge bird - i'd dare to say it was smaller than a merlin and bigger than a pigeon.

i was hoping to see it hunt, but oh well.

also of note - saw a turkey vulture fly over the water tower while the falcon was sitting there.
