Looking for some areas outside of Kingston to do some fall landscape photography. Anyone in an area where your colours are at peak or close to peak? Thanks.

Ottawa is. We're going to try for the Gatineau Hills Saturday afternoon.

Check out the Fall Colour reports from Travel Ontario. http://www.ontariotravel.net/publicatio ... report.pdf

Since you're in Kingston, I would suggest just start driving north along the Rideau. There a bunch of old mills along the way.

Camden East is also suppose to be good, it's the home of Hallmark Cards.

We also ran into this little park just north of Napanee a few years ago. I don't know how the colours are, but it's a very nice looking area. Reminds me of Algonquin Park. http://quinteconservation.ca/web/images ... ffield.pdf

.

The report for the Barrie to Midland corridor is pretty accurate. The 400 extension usually has some spectacular stretches but it's not near 50% at the moment.

It's amazing how it varies from year to year and how much the summer weather has an effect.

This is a shot near Gloucester Pool from Thanksgiving a few years back......today, the same spot is nowhere near as vibrant.

It's a scan of a photograph so the quality is not great but it does give a hint of how truly spectacular it was.

Here's a couple from the Rouge Valley yesterday, no blue skies unfortunately.  Heading out now to see if I can get some more.
